Meet Kurt
For nearly 30 years, Kurt Mattson, CFP®, has built his practice around a simple idea: wealth management should feel like a partnership, not a transaction. As Founder of Yari Capital — known as Mattson & Associates from 1995 until its 2024 rebrand — Kurt specializes in retirement income planning, investment management, and the tax and estate complexities that come with real wealth, helping clients turn a lifetime of earning into a durable, well-structured plan for the decades ahead. Having guided clients through the dot-com bubble of 1998–2000, the 2008 financial crisis, and the 2020 pandemic downturn, Kurt brings a steady, experienced perspective to every market environment.
That approach has earned Kurt national recognition, including Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor honors every year from 2022 through 2025, along with regular media features on market trends and planning strategy. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and Investment Advisor Representative, Kurt brings an objective, full-picture view to every client relationship — reviewing assets, liabilities, cash flow, investments, insurance, and tax exposure to build a plan suited to where a client is headed, not just where they are today.
Yari Capital is a partner firm of Carson Group, operating under Carson Wealth Management, LLC, a registered investment advisor, giving clients the resources of a national platform with the personal attention of an independent practice.
Outside the office, Kurt and his wife, Wendy, live in Buckhead with their dog, Brickell. Their daughter Maybrie is a sophomore at the University of Miami. Kurt stays active through golf, skiing, and working out, and is involved in the community through the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church (PRUMC), Georgia for Georgia, the Christian Leadership Concepts (CLC) group, the Georgia State Golf Association, and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
